Combinatorial Number Theory

My doctoral dissertation from Central Michigan University was in combinatorial number theory.  I am particularly interested in problems involving the intersections of interesting sets of numbers.  For example, the largest number common to the Fibonacci and Catalan sequences is 5.

I recently presented a paper at the 11th International Conference on Fibonacci Numbers in Braunschweig, Germany, entitled "Sums of Consecutive Factorials in the Fibonacci Sequence".  The paper has been accepted for publication in Applications of Fibonacci Numbers.  In this paper, we learn what is so special about the number 34.

More details on my work will soon be available.  Email me for more information.
