Abstract: | Startingwith some fundamental assumptions about the nature of materials, we willformulate laws governing the evolution of material states (such as differingphases, local magnetic orientation, etc.). These laws become equations ofevolution. We will then try to determine the qualitative behavior of solutionsor look at special wave-like solutions and in so doing generate good mathematicsand (I hope) good science. |
