In September 2000, the Red Cross declared a Blood Emergency Month. "The Great Lakes Blood Region seeks to maintain a three-day emergency supply of blood products. Currently that supply is well below the desired level. As of Tuesday, September 5, 2000, the supply of blood tpes was as follows:

Any one aged 17 years and older, weighing at least 110 pounds, and in good general health is urged to participate.
